Doug Cook, RD

Registered Dietitian

Doug Cook RD, MHSc is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist who worked at St Michael's Hospital for over 11 years. Doug is very passionate about food and nutrition and the role that nutrition plays in health and wellness. He practices a holistic and integrative approach providing science-based guidance on food and diet along with nutritional supplements where appropriate.

According to clients, his strength is in his ability to take the science of nutrition and translate it into everyday practical dietary advice. Putting nutritional issues into perspective and context, he's able to help individualize a particular topic while keeping the big picture in mind.

Doug provides nutrition coaching on a variety of issues including general healthy eating, vegetarianism, sport nutrition, meal planning, and chronic disease risk reduction such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and heart disease. Doug is also a licensed Craving Changeā„¢ coach, a behavioural based weight loss/weight maintenance program that focuses on the 'why' behind problematic eating and not just the 'what', 'when', or 'how' much to eat.

Doug received his Master's of Health Science in Nutrition from the University of Toronto, completed his Post-graduate Internship in Clinical Nutrition at St Michael's Hospital and did his Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition at Ryerson University.
