Sports Injury Therapy FAQ'S

What is Sports Injury Therapy?

Sports Injury Therapy combines the skill set of Massage Therapy and the additional critical skill sets from related Sports Medicine Professions. It is the prevention, emergency care and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.

Sports injury therapy focuses on techniques such as, deep tissue massage, muscle energy, strain-counterstrain, myofascial release, joint mobilization and athletic taping and bracing support. Therapeutic modalities such as, ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, interferential current, cold LASER therapy are also used to ensure their patients can safely return to physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Sports Injury Therapists are often seen working with athletes during sporting events. They do not only work with sport injuries and recreational injuries. They may also treat motor vehicle accidents injuries.

What conditions can be treated?
• Sports Injuries • Sprains & Strains
• Repetitive Stress Injuries • Tennis/Golfers Elbow
• Tendonitis • Bursitis
• Knee Pain • Shin Splints
• Dislocations & Fractures • Plantar Fascitis
• Prevention & Maintenance Rehabilitation • Post Surgical Rehabilitation
How often do I need Therapy?

To get you back to whatever sport or activity quickly we recommend clients to be treated two or three times per week. The more serious the injury will effect the duration of your treatment as well as the commitment level you are to your recovery. Setting up permanent appointment times will help you make scheduling consistent in your busy schedule.

Toronto walk-in clinic reviews

I have come to Bp 3 times now. When I walk-in in the mornings around 10am, there is not much of a wait (maybe 10 - 15min). However, I would not recommend coming by during their peak hours, which I assume with any clinic would be during lunch hours.
